Texas Hold’em is undoubtedly the most popular poker game played among gaming enthusiasts. Texas Hold’em includes both community cards and individual player cards in each hand. A player may use any combination of the five community acards and the player’s own two hole cards to make a poker hand. This differs from poker games like stud or draw, where each player holds a separate individual hand.
Texas holdem presents an opportune game for strategic analysis because each player only starts with two cards and the remaining cards are shared. Like all variants of Poker, the players compete for the ‘pot’. The Pot is won by the player with the best hand after each round.
There are a couple of betting variations to texas holdem including limit texas holdem where players sit down at a table that has a set limit on how much the player can bet. The problem with limit games is at times it tends to be more of just showdown poker, meaning players call you down with average hands much more comapred to the other variation called no limit. In this variation, players can bet as much or as little as they want, and frankly it is truly how poker should be played and is the standard for most big tournaments. The nice part about no limit texas holdem poker is you don't have some donk calling you down every pot so it truly becomes more of a strategy and skill game compared to limit holdem. There is one more variation called pot limit which is self explanatory, you can bet as much as the pot has in it.
